This is the first in a series of features on the cars, teams and drivers that will be competing in the Live Sockets Battle Series on July 20th at California Speedway in conjunction with the Redline Time Attack Series. Stay tuned as the full roster is revealed.

This car started its life as any other Honda S2000. Honda engineered the S2000 to be a fast compact roadster. It’s got a high output 2.0 liter engine, 6 speed transmission, in-wheel double wishbone suspension, high x-bone frame, ideal 50/50 weight distribution, etc.

The car was stripped down to bare metal and seam welded in order to make it as light as possible without sacrificing safety. Using a dry-carbon process, C-West designed a body kit for this car to achieve maximum downforce while keeping it lightweight.

This is the best sports car out of Japan ever and we are going to give it what it deserves; an action packed DVD all on the GT-R. You didn't think we would actually go without releasing a dedicated DVD on the all new Nissan GT-R did you?

First we took the GT-R to test it against some of its rival cars, the Porsche 911 Turbo, 911 GT3, Gallardo Superleggera and NSX Type R. Only Best Motoring is able to gather the best of the world and pit it against the GT-R. Then Gan-san takes it for a ride to give his expert impressions followed by an interview of Kazutoshi Mizuno, the GT-R's Cheif Engineer. Then our Keiichi "Drift King" Tsuchiya takes it around Tsukuba on a time attack and also conducts his voluntary drift check. Finally the Mine's R35 GT-R takes the stage as one of the first modified GT-Rs completed.

LIVE SOCKETS BATTLE SERIES REVS UP AT CALIFORNIA SPEEDWAY

The new racing series will pit teams in head-to-head battle on the full 2.8 mile Auto Competition Course at the Fontana track.

Los Angeles, CA (May 13, 2008) – Live Sockets Entertainment in conjunction with the Redline Time Attack Series will produce the Live Sockets Battle Series, a head-to-head racing competition, pitting some of the country's top tuners against one another on California Speedway's 21 turn, 2.8 miles Auto Competition Course. This unique event will run within the Redline Time Attack weekend July 19-20th at the famed Fontana raceway. Rules/regulations and a list of teams participating in the series will be announced shortly.

“Fontana (Speedway) in this configuration with the banked turn in play is a going to be insane,” says Thuy Dang, Live Sockets Executive Producer. “This may be the first time for many of these teams to run the cars on the larger road course and we're excited to see how everyone will adjust to this configuration and format.”

The title features Rounds 9-10 of the 2007 Championship Season along with the mid-season review so viewers can get caught up on all the action from the first half of the season.

After a two month break the WRC returns to the Motorsports world stage. With eight events down and eight to go, it’s already been a see-saw battle for the lead. The 2007 championship is turning into a spectacular one with Marcus Grönholm leading the Drivers’ championship by 9 points over his rival Sébastien Loeb.
