Japanese Classic Car Show
Posted 2010-09-15, 01:24:37 PST by @allmotorking Tags: event coverage, street Wow! What an amazing show! Great cars, great weather, and great vibes out at Long Beach for the Annual Japanese Classic Car Show. The Live Sockets crew had a great time at this event and wanted to thank all those who came out and supported the event. Hundreds of classic imports were on display from Nissan, Datsun, Toyota, Honda, Mazda, and more. Simply amazing how these cars have been restored, rebuilt, and in many cases upgraded through the years. The painstaking detail and attention that has been put in these cars are pretty inspiring...

Pastrana Sets Fastest time up Mt Washington
Posted 2010-09-14, 09:44:04 PST by press Tags: event coverage, rally TRAVIS PASTRANA SETS FASTEST TIME IN AUTOMOBILE UP NOTORIOUS MT. WASHINGTON AUTO ROAD September 9th, 2010 Pastrana Ascends 6,288-Foot Peak Driving Subaru Rally Car, Besting 100 Years of Previous Attempts Gorham, NH – The 149-year-old Mt. Washington Auto Road has seen the likes of horses and carriages, camels, people, bicycles and most famously, competition race cars. Yesterday, traveling at an average speed of nearly 72mph in a Vermont SportsCar prepared, BFGoodrich Tires-shod 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX STI rally car, four-time Rally America National Champion Travis Pastrana made sure the project name, Red Bull Speed Chasers, lived up to its name. He reached the summit faster than anyone else in history by clocking an officially timed run of 6 minutes 20.47 seconds, besting the previous record by more than twenty seconds. Amazingly, Pastrana achieved the impressive time on his first ever high-speed run to the summit. Pastrana has effectively thrown down the gauntlet in advance of the legendary Mt. Washington "Climb to the Clouds" Automobile Hillclimb, which will take place in 2011 after a 10-year hiatus.

WRC Rally Japan Images
Posted 2010-09-13, 00:25:50 PST by the Stig Tags: event coverage, rally What a rally. We really thought that Petter Solberg could pull off the win after leading the rally entering the final day. Unfortunately he encountered a steering problem after hitting something on stage early on that opened the door for Sebastien Ogier to take and maintain the lead in the final few stages. Jari-Matti Latvala came in third followed by Dani Sordo, Sebastien Loeb and Mikko Hirvonen. Still a great effort by Petter who sits in 4th place overall in the Driver's Championship. Here are some images from this one. Next stop, Rallye de France on Corsica @ the beginning of Oct.

The Top 4 competition consisted of a battle between current champion Chris Forsberg in his NOS Energy Drink Nissan 350Z against 2-time Formula DRIFT champion Tanner Foust in his Rockstar Energy Scion TC for third place.
