2009 Rally America Season Begins in Michigan

The 2001 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS was stripped down, seam welded, caged, painted, and re-assembled with a donor motor and transmission from another 2001 2.5RS. The roll cage was constructed by Jackson Rally and is Rally America and NASA compliant (built to FIA Article 253 specs). It has been overbuilt in some areas for extra safety and rigidity. The shell has been seam welded around the struts, transmission tunnel, cabin floor, and wheel wells. The roof skin was replaced with a JDM roof to completely delete the USDM sunroof option.

This week, to continue with a Christmas season theme, we bounce over to a vibrant red Evo X from Artisan Performance / Mishimoto. Contrasting the Vivid Racing Evo X that focused more on turning heads and catching eye balls for SEMA, this Evo X showcases an abundance of performance modifications under the hood with minimal styling cues to set it apart from the crowd. The result is a clean package, enough to catch any enthusiast’s eye while satisfying the need for speed for any hardcore pedal pusher. Under the hood, Artisan Performance went straight to work on developing plenty of Evo X components for their project. The cold side was taken care of with their intercooler, piping and intake; while the hot side sports an Artisan down pipe, RaceBack exhaust fully equipped with a carbon fiber titanium muffler and Artisan’s trademark SA-X50 turbo. Engine management comes in the form of a GReddy e-Manage Ultimate along with GReddy pressure sensor, AMS reflash and Artisan’s own boost controller. Handling all of the additional fuel load that is needed are Deatchwerks injectors and Walbro fuel pump. The rest of the turbo kit is attributed with a Forge actuator and blow off valve.
