Mini Officially Back in the WRC

It's official, BMW announced this week that the Mini brand will be entered in the WRC for selected rounds in 2011 and the full season in 2012 and so on. The WRC car based on the new Countryman production model will be developed in partnership with Prodrive and feature a 1.6-liter, four-cylinder turbo engine from BMW Motorsport.

BMW has a lot to live up to with bringing the Mini brand back into rallying. We are all for it and hopefully this will bring more manufacturers back to the series. Here's the mockup that Prodrive sent us of what the new car will look like.
