Drift Showoff - Pike's Peak!

Fountain, CO ?April 22, 2004 - The prestigious Falken Tire Pikes Peak International Hill Climb will play host to the 3rd stop of the Falken Tire Drift Showoff event series June 26th-27th. For the first time in US Motorsports history Mainstream Productions Inc. will showcase the sport of drifting at the second oldest motorsports event in the United States.

“Drifting originated in the mountains of Japan and we are very excited about bringing the sport back to its original setting, only this time it’s here in the US at Pikes Peak.?says Ken Miyoshi, President of Mainstream Productions.

Falken Tire drivers Calvin Wan, Yoshinori Koguchi and Seigo Yamamoto will drift the paved section of the famed Pikes Peak Highway on June 26th during the lunch break in conjunction with the finals of the Hill Climb competition.

"Bringing the sport of Drifting to the mountain roads of Pikes Peak was the next logical step in the evolution of this exciting new sport,?said Falken Tire Vice President of Sales and Marketing and Logistics Richard Smallwood. “It puts this most extreme form of motorsports on one of the most extreme roads on the planet. It’s tantamount to bungee jumping from a helicopter at over 14,000 feet."

On June 27th the Drift Showoff continues at Pikes Peak International Raceway with the professional drifting exhibition, clinic, and competition. Drivers from across the U.S. are planning to compete in this historic event.
